The main differences between full trailers and semi-trailers include: body structure, towing method, cargo capacity, driving stability, difficulty in reversing, and variations in usage scenarios. In practice, these differences primarily stem from the design of the body structure, which leads to variations in towing methods, cargo capacity, and driving operation scenarios. Based on different structures, cargo-carrying capabilities, and personal driving experience, simply choose the appropriate model for towing and cargo transport.

The main differences between full trailers and semi-trailers are as follows:

Structural Design Differences:

Full trailer: A full trailer is a vehicle that lacks its own power, relies on being independently supported and towed by other vehicles. It features a complete frame and body, with a relatively long body, typically composed of components such as the frame, cargo compartment, axle, wheels, and suspension system. It can generally be parked and supported independently.

Semi-trailer: A semi-trailer is a type of trailer where the axle is positioned behind the vehicle's center of gravity (when evenly loaded) and equipped with a coupling device that transfers horizontal and vertical forces to the tractor. Its body is connected to the tractor's saddle via a kingpin, lacking an independent front axle and steering system. The front end of the frame is linked to the tractor through the kingpin, while the rear section carries the cargo and the trailer's own weight.

Different traction methods

**Full trailer**: The towing device of a full trailer is typically relatively simple, usually connecting to the tractor via a towing hook or drawbar, with the connection point located at the front of the full trailer. The tractor provides power and steering control, while the full trailer follows the tractor in motion. Steering is primarily achieved by transmitting the tractor's steering actions through the towing device to the full trailer, enabling a degree of steering follow-up.

Semi-trailer: The towing connection method of semi-trailers is more complex and secure, as the trailer saddle connects with the tractor. The saddle and the semi-trailer's kingpin work in coordination to form a stable connection structure. The steering of the semi-trailer is well synchronized with that of the tractor. During operation, part of the semi-trailer's weight is transferred to the tractor via the kingpin, increasing the tractor's load and enhancing driving stability.
